Hi all. I have the chance to buy a NIB Lower and need help deciding which one. This will be for a custom build at a later date. All are stripped NIB Lowers. S&W @ $100 Spikes @ $160 Delton @ $80 I don't know anything about buying "parts" for an AR/M4, so help would be apprciated. Thanks in advance. Biker |

I would check here. Essential Arms They have the best quality that I have seen. The rifle that I'm building is both upper and lower Essential Arms. The staff there are TOP NOTCH! Make sure you get the "Tough Coat Black" as it's only an extra $5.00.
From their website: The new model, J-15-F forged
lower receiver, is machined from 7075 heat treated T6 aluminum alloy and is anodized to mil.spec. 8625. |

I would buy the S&W and here's why. Should you ever decide to sell it, S&W is a name that every one who knows anything about firearms knows. The masses haven't heard of Spike's or Del-Ton. Just my .02. I agree....but if you plan on a "keeper" get Essential Arms, I have 7 |

where can you get an S&W for $100? i'll take 2 please.
anyway, as you can tell i'd buy the S&W for reasons stated above, i can resell it IF i wanted. i have an EA lower, but i don't know what's the difference between the regular one and the "tough coat". i've read that the tough coat was darker, mine looked nice and was slick, but i don't know if it was tough coat. bought it from a vendor here in La. that had a bunch at a gun show, I didn't know much about Essential Arms and never asked if it was "tough coat". mark up on lowers are crazy, one guy wanted to sell an RRA lower for $170, i have no idea why. another wanted to sell an Aero Precision stripped lower for $150 and complete lower for $300! it's crazy. |
| FWIW, if you read up on Essential Arms, they actually stopped selling to the public for some years because they were the ones building uppers and lowers for lots of companies. I know Bushmaster as well as several other big names used to use them. Bushmaster simply found someone cheaper to do their work. You can take that fwiw. |

be careful with tactical innovation lowers if you have to use one all day in a carbine course! the trigger guard is squared off and I got a nice blister on my finger i am contemplating rounding the edge with a dremel. the magpul bad lever does not work either.

Tactical Innovations - $99 PURE WIN Why..... - 7075 aluminum - factory done rear take down set screw mod - factory upper to lower adjustment screw - wire EDM mag well - caliber "multi" - shipped as receiver (you can designate rifle or pistol later) - milled IN HOUSE and not farmed out - great customer service I could go on and on.......these are the best lowers I have ever bought. I own 3 of them now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v510/yfz450air/IMG_1704.jpg |
