What's the best CHEAP free-floating rail? I'm not ready to bite the bullet and spend $300 for Daniel Defense.

Midwest Industries T series. I wouldn't consider them cheap. They are top notch, worth more than what I paid for mine.

I'd take a look at YHM too, good quality very inexpensive compared to competition YHM Rails
