I would welcome some input on what to use for hangards on my LMT M4. I would like to go with a quadrail setup.
I am leaning toward the Troy Industries 7" setup. What do you folks think? |

I use KAC and DD. They are both FF.

Free float are what it says they float free which means that no part of the rail touches the barrel which equals improved accuracy. Drop in just replace the existing hanguards. I like the KAC RAS. I have them on my LMT M4 and they are rock solid. I thought that would have some benefit to giving greater accuracy but are there any drawbacks to free floating? |

No, not really. If the muzzle end of the free floating handguard is put under extreme pressure there might be some very minimal deflection only measurable in thousandths of an inch, but is should return to normal when the pressure is released. If you stick with Daniel Defense, LaRue or Surefire, you shouldnt ever have any problems.
It just comes down to how much quality you desire and what your willing to spend. The aforementioned brands are big bucks. I'm sure others will chime in on their opinions and experiences. |

I'm thinking about MI free floating hand guards but I'm also considering Daniel Defense or YHM. |
