I am sure this has been asked 1001 times but i will have to be the one to ask the 1002 time.  Are these lowers 100% mil spec or is it milspec with a commercial buffer....  I read that they were mil spec then i saw in another thread that they have commercial buffer "reciever"  sorry i dont know the technical term for it.   and also can you explain the difference between mil spec and comercial?  thank you very much, still learning here.

You might be smoking crack.  The buffer would be bought by you if you are purchasing a stripped lower.  Now, if you are buying a complete lower, I'm not sure if they use a commercial or milspec buffer tube, but either way it doesn't much matter.

Both types receiver extensions("buffer tube") will screw into any lower receiver. Commercial extensions have a slightly larger outer diameter.  Both mil spec and commercial will function the same. RRA complete rifles come withcommercial receiver extensions. This affects what stocks you can use.

With respect to collapsible stocks there are two different types of buffer tubes; they are only slightly different in diameter. The mil spec is slightly thinner than the commercial standard. RRA uses the commercial variant on their carbines with collapsible buttstocks. The commercial is distinguishable by the slanted back end of the tube, as well as putting a caliper on the tube. Really the 5 degrees sloping back is the give-away.

Are you only talking about the buffer tube?  The last Rock River I looked at had a high shelf.  To most people the high shelf vs. low shelf doesn't mean a thing though.
