Does anybody have a Magpul CTR stock on you AR?
They look way big in the Pix I have seen.
How do you like yours?

I have three and love them. They lock up tight. I can't stand loose/rattle.

Fine piece of equipment.  What you would expect from Magpul...top notch quality   nothing really big about it.

It is one of the most popular if not the most popular option out there.  It looks up solid, functions perfectly, is light and is relatively inexpensive.

I have five of them and one SOPMOD stock.  I love all my CTRs.  It is worth the extra money to get a CTR instead of the MOE stock.  The extra tight lockup is awesome with 100% zero movement or rattle.  I have the rubber butt pade on all of mine as well and itis great for preventing slippage during rapid fire.

Two of mine are commercial variants, and the rest are MIl-spec sizes.  Both are great.

I've got the Milspec model CTR on my LMT carbine

They're really not big only roughly the size of a regular M4 buttstock but virtually solid lockup, it's my favorite on my lighter weight carbine, they're also very popular here just look at all the pic threads.

I have 2, both commercial, with one installed on my Entry Tactical and I love it. I have 2 more coming, and they are all for builds in progress. Great stock, just don't overpay. Locks up great, rubber butt pad is nice, best tactical stock out there in my opinion... Good luck finding one though.

I love my CTR, because it is well made and the friction lever makes it solid no movement like a regular multiple position stock has.

I have a SOPMOD on my LMT and a CTR. I like the SOPMOD the best because of the storage and also because it is rock solid and doesn't twist like the CTR but I still like the CTR. Both have great cheek welds but the SOPMOD is still slightly better. Everything about the SOPMOD is better but the price.

I have one CTR, and one SOPMOD, both are performing well.
The SOPMOD is heavier & balances my M4A1 barrel just right. The CTR works perfectly with the gov't profile barrel.

I don't want to thread jack, but I have a CTR for a carbine build I'm working on, and it seems like it will be a great stock for that rifle, and after feeling how solid it is, I'm tempted to buy another for my SPR build that I'm in the middle of as well.  However, the CTR seems like it might be a bit light to properly balance out an SPR with a SS 18 noveske SPR barrell?  Do you guys have a suggestion of another collapsing stock that will lock up tight, but would maybe be a bit heavier to give better balance?  I'd rather not spend tons, but if thats what it takes to set my rifle up the way it should be, then I'll probably just half to bite the bullet.

The Magpul PRS or UBR would both suffice for that kind of rifle.

Yup, I've notice that too. Some kinda optical illusion in pics. But they are actually proportional to the rifle in person. I have CTR mil-spec in both my 11.5 and 14.5.

Ok, thnx for the recommendations on an SPR stock guys.  I'll look into getting one of those when my SPR becomes less able to be in multiple places at once

The CTR is a very well made stock. It could be the right one for you. As M4builder said, and like Projektile mentioned, balance is important.

I think it is more important than weight. If you are planning a 16" barrel with a railed forearm and a flashlight hanging off the front you may want a heavier

stock to offset the difference. To each their own. I am a big enough person so that a little extra weight will go unnoticed as long as it is evenly distributed.

On the other hand, I frequently see people overly fatigued by holding nail gun over their head for an hour.

The CTR is great!

I ordered the kit from DPMS.

It comes with everything you need and the fit is perfect.

If you order from DPMS, you'll be in the que... It took 3 months for mine to arrive.

Try eBay... Good luck!

Good balance, low profile rubber padding, slide-lock ... I like it.

CTR's are awesome.  Light weight.  Cool looking.  Mine locks up like Fort Knox.  Zero rattle or slide.  The rubber butt pad is nice, too.

AV1611 out...

Agreed.  I have one of each.  PRS on the 18" and UBR on the 16".  Good luck finding the UBR and if you do, please let me know!
