I did a search going 90 days and can not find anything on this!

Perma Pin

Anyone has it installed and can provide some info?

I put one in a Young BCG. The thing looks like a nail someone modified in the field, but it's definitely harder to screw up than the cotter pin (that I bent).

It's not a critical, must-have item, but it's a bit nicer than the standard pin.

no, but I have bolt carriers that I wish I could try them on.

Don't drop em'. I was suprised at how small it was.

Like I said, it looks like a small nail that's been improvised for AR use. You won't regret it, though.

Thats too funny....I had the exact same situation happen to me.

I have them in two of my rifles.  Just a little extra piece of mind.  The design is original from Mr. Stoner himself from what I understand, and the cotter pin was used as a cost saver.  Anyway, it makes me feel better.

They are very similar (if not identical) to the original firing-pin retaining pin in the Fairchild-ArmaLite guns, though those were chromed. The guys in the Retro forum know all about them. Nice, yes, but a seven-dollar part to do a job that can be done by an eighty-cent part is not necessarily for everyone.
