I came across a smith lower for $150.00 ,anybody use one of these for a build ? Opinions on quality and the price. It's a stripped lower...

Lower should be just fine to build off of, and price isn't horrible considering the current run on AR stuff.

I'd buy it to flip it, but you would do well to use it if that's what you're wanting to do.

They are made by Stag, and right now that is as good a deal as you'll find.

Not any more.

I think they buy forgings from Anchor Harvey and machine in house now.

So... are these lowers better or worse than say... RRA, Bushmaster, Stag? I am curious to know about these lowers, because I am seeing these around now and without any caliber markings on them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You did Ok,I Just bought a S&W stripped lower this weekend at a gunshow,cost me $150 also.It's going on my S&W MP upper in 5.45x39.How about (parts kits) for the lowers? Anybody know where to buy them?     P.S.
The workmanship is damn good,better than some lowers I've purchased.

I'm curious as well.  I'd like to build my first national defense rifle and want to use the proceeds from my fantasy football league to buy a lower.  189 out the door from a local dealer with all the fantastic application fees and sales taxes.
