Can someone that is running the JP/VTAC modular handguard post a pic? I also would like opinions on them, pros and cons. I like the fact that it's smooth (no robo-porcupine to hold onto), and I can place rails only where I need them. I just noticed on JP's website that they are all sold out right now, so this may be a moot point for awhile.

VTAC on my  new noveske upper. I'm in the process of duracoating the handgaurd OD green.  Should be done in a few days.

This is the rifle length handgaurd on a 14.5" with pinned vortex.

How does that handguard compare in weight to a basic alum. freefloat tube?  I'm trying to decide on a replacement for mine and the JP/VTAC was on the list.

I like the slots in the tube it looks like that would allow for a little better cooling than what I have now or something like the Clark tube.

Very nice rifles, guys. I like the look of the rifle length handguards. I was thinking of putting a midlength on my 16"

If you don't plan on mounting a lot of stuff on the rails, JP is the best available in my opinion.

Not to hijack but.......

I wanna see an 18" midlength with a rifle length and an 18" midlength with a midlength so I can make up my damned mind!

Pardon my ignorance if it is something common but what is that on the barrel?

Long time since I saw that picture.  That is one badass looking rifle.  I would refinish the scope to match though

supressor with a heat shield?

That was my first guess, a little research confirmed the true identity:

i have read that the jp handguards heat up pretty quick.  i like the look and the compatability of the handguard and i am thinking about purchasing one in the near future.  can anyone give me any feedback on how quick it heats up and what you do to negate the effect?

thanks...
