Ok.... I'm looking for some high quality quad rails and wanted opinions on Samson C, Daniel Defense 7.0 CAR or MI Quads for a 16" Carbine. Which of the three are better? Or are there better ones than those out there?

The Daniel Defense would be the highest quality of those three. What's your price range and what do you plan to do with the rifle? Shoot stuff! j/k I want to add lots of goodies over time and want it to be of solid, pass it down to my son or daughter type of rifle. pepcpatty |

DD makes awesome rails, however if my memory serves me correct than all their stuff requires a special barrel nut. This means either do it yourself (if you have all the tools) or take it to a gunsmith (expensive). I think Larue is much the same. Samson is great and MI isn't bad either, but I actually like the Troy MRF's better. Most of the medium range models all connect directly to the standard barrel nut and require minimal gunsmithing. But that's just my 2 cents worth, which with inflation these days amounts to about nothing. |

the DD gets my vote.
as for the "special" tool, you don't need it. i use a RIDGID RapidGrip. it will put some *marks* on the nut but the rail covers most of it up. you could use some tape or a leather strap to prevent the marks but i kinda like'em
