I'm looking for a 16" lightweight barrel assembly. So far the best deal I've found is at Bushmaster. Plus I believe their barrels are chrome-lined. CMMG and RRA are quite a bit more, while DPMS only offers a post-ban barrel. Does anyone know of a better deal or barrel than the Bushmaster lightweight? Thanks! |
| Doublestar aka JT Distributing also makes a lightweight barrel. I ended up going with a Bushmaster barrel from here, www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=22&t=263482 great guys to deal with. You can get a barrel with a 1/9 or 1/7 twist rates. The new bushmaster barrel I purchased came with M4 ramp style barrel extension. |

Bushys are 4150 Cr Moly Chrome barrels & chambers PK Firearms ..click on above header.. I have a number of them through the years....newer ones have M4 (Bushy calls them M2) feed ramps...if thats important to you.. There were a few floating around that were also 1 in 7 twist if that is also important to you. |

Ive been impressed with this one. MSTN 17 STD lightweight LILJA comp I built a lightweight build around one of these. |

I got a light weight Bushy 1/7 barrel. Nice and light on my KISS rifle. Periodically they will run special batches. Last batch they had a million folks say they would take one but too many people didn't. A sponsor here I forget came to the rescue and bought the remaining batch. For the most part Bushy barrels are 1/9 and chromelined. I guess it depends if you are looking for a 1/7 or 1/9. |
Can I say all of them? ![]() My priority would be lightweight, but a chrome bore is also important (which I guess would constitute long life). I would imagine any of the big name barrels would produce decent accuracy? I would be shooting this with irons by the way, so I doubt I can out-shoot any of the barrels offered. 55gr is what I would most likely be shooting, so 1/9 is OK. |
If you are just shooting surplus ammo and aren't handloading, save your money on the barrel. You won't be able to tell much difference with surplus ammo. A bushy lightweight would be fine for what you are trying to do. |
![]() ![]() ![]() THE NOVESKE HAMMER FORGED, CHROME LINED BARRELS ARE THE OPTIMUM BARRELS FOR 95% OF AR' USE. YOU WON'T FIND A LIGHTER SUB-MOA BARREL, OR A LONGER LASTING BARREL, PERIOD. GOOD SHOOTING, WES GRANT MSTN.BIZ |
Good luck with that. There are zero dealers that I know offering the N4 barrel separatly. |
WE CAN'T SELL THEM SEPARATELY, BUT WE CAN RE-BARREL YOUR EXISTING UPPER, SO LONG AS WE CHECK THE BOLT FOR FIT AND PROVIDE A PROPERLY FITTED BOLT IF REQUIRED. WE CAN ALWAYS DO A FULL CUSTOM BUILD FOR YOU. THE NOVESKE HAMMER FORGED BARREL IS NOW THE MOST REQUESTED BARREL IN OUR CUSTOM BUILDS. GOOD SHOOTING, WES |
