| Who makes the best conversion unit and how reliable are they? I'd like to buy one for my middy. |
|
If you don't own one, you should.... yesterday. They are awesome and will pay for itself in one outing. I have 2 Ceiner conversions and both function flawlessly w/ Federal bulk pack from Walmart. I would check out the CMMG kits which will be available sometime soon at Brownells. Also, check out the Caliber conversion forum. |

I got a Ceiner from Cheaperthandirt ($140, IIRC) but I can't really compare it to anything else since I don't have anything else. Does what I want it to do, may not be as accurate as a full-upper type conversion, but I look at my AR as a plinking rifle rather than a precision one*, so it works just fine for me. Occasional FTE, probably isn't broken in yet. I think it's certainly worth the price. * Yes, I know, but I have several other rifle platforms that I enjoy for distance accuracy. |
If you can find one? Around $200. Less if you search the EE. They pop up on the EE here and there. I bought my second one on the EE about a month ago for $200 shipped, NIB. THe CMMG version looks like an almost exact copy of the Ciener anyways. I would just get that. Ciener is the sux big time when it comes to CS. Oh, and don't forget your BDM mags!! |
You people are being ripped off, if you're paying that kind of money for Ciener kits. Even w/a Black Dog mag, y'all shouldn't pay more than $200; and w/the standard 10 round mag full list price is $160. With the 30 round Ciener mag, list is $201.79, but who would pay Ciener's price for a 30 rounder, when the Black Dog is available for so much less. ![]() |
Show off... btw, can i clean your house, polish your car, mow your lawn, anything that might help. I don't charge much
