Law-enforcement agencies and government military units widely and extensively use, aside from their side arms, fully automatic firearms pursuant to their assigned mission of maintaining national security, and peace and order.

However, the automatic nature of these firearms sometimes become a liability as shown by numerous incidents involving injuries---and even death---inflicted by soldiers and policemen on themselves, their colleagues, as well as innocent people, induding their property, resulting from the rapid and/or high rate of firing and, oftentimes needless discharging of ammunition of these automatic firearms. Also, accuracy in hitting targets declines because of muzzle deflection and automatic but uncontrolled firing.

Inventors responded to this situation by creating devices that hopefully could reduce the rate of fire of automatic firearms. However, these devices were not fully successful, and some were even complete failures, in achieving the desired results, thus Applicant ALAN FRANCIS SY invented the "Slidable-Independent Sear Disconnector".

Essentially, this invention provides a sear disconnector that can be easily and quickly installed inside an automatic firearm`s bolt carrier where it is activated by inertia from said firearm`s recoil. This sear disconnector ``slides`` independently inside the bolt carrier in a to-and-fro movement, with each stroke or movement always trailing or lagging behind the bolt carrier`s own movement as the firearm is being fired. This results in a time delay that effectively reduces the firing rate of ammunition thereby giving the user more control over the firing of the firearm.

The concept and device itself is not that new (Ferfrans), but the detented delay idea is very clever... If you can get your hands on one, why not try it out?
