| Any recommendations on a good 7" non free float rail? |
|
www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=172238 YHM offers the best bang for the buck; Surefire and MI offer a great product *(Better finish and maching vs the YHM) for slightly more if you want the "best", look to a DD, LaRue, Samson, etc |
I've got a KAC M4 RAS rails and would recommend it if you don't want to get bothered with a loose rail later on, the KAC have a locking bracket that locks to the barrel nut which prevents any movement. KAC also have an optional SAS model lower half rail which also have a locking feature that also locks on to the lower part of the barrel nut, just in case the standard lower rail becomes loose when worn out. There are plenty of great deals at the Equipment Exchange if you regularly check there. |

The SureFire M73 is the best non-FF rail on the market today. The unique design provides an absolutely rock-solid lock-up. It is also much less expensive than the KAC offering. Buy with confidence and enjoy an excellent, economical rail system with the world famous Surefire warranty. E-mail Calvin at BrightFlashlights.com for your best deal. The last time I bought one from him, there was a 1 and a 5 in his price. |

The Troy and and the Daniel Defense Omega Rail are 2 good choices for rails that do not require the removal of the d-ring assembly. I had the surefire for awhile and hated it because the rails aren't the same height as the flat top of the upper receiver, didn't look good and, felt cheap. Troy Omega Rail |
