Are DPMS uppers any good?  I'm planning on shooting this build a lot so I want something that is very reliable and will last for a long time.  I guess if I'm putting in my own enhanced BCG it really doesn't make as much difference.

thanks

Does it make any difference combining uppers and lowers other than if your a brand snob?  Which uppers are considered best?  I was just thinking DPMS for matching my lower but they cost very similar to the premiere brand names from what I have seen.

No, it doesn't matter if you combine upper and lowers.  All of my ARs have different uppers and lowers except for my CMMG and RRA complete rifles.

What upper is best, depends on what your looking for.

What configuration are you looking for?

What purpose will it serve?

What is your budget?

My lower is complete and I am looking at around 500-700 for everything for an upper (except optics and mounts).  I'm looking for a M4 style with or without the rail because I may want to just add my own in the future.  The purpose it will serve is hunting, shooting, classes in the future (I'm graduating in Criminal Justice and have prior MP experience.) and I plan on shooting it a lot.  I don't know if any 10,000 rounds in 2 day courses will be in the future but I am pretty sure a class this summer or next is in the future.

Are LMT uppers better than Sabre uppers?

Had one that never missed a beat. Still have it, but rebarreled with a different brand of barrel, so technically it's not a DPMS upper anymore.

I just wish they did chrome lining.

none whatsoever, as long as the pin configuration is compatible (SP1 etc)

Which uppers are considered best?

If you are talking complete upper half, Colt, in my opinion.
