How often do new complete Colt 6920 and 6921 lowers turn up? I want to get a 6920 come tuesday, but they are hard to come by, and I'd prefer not to take any risks using gunbroker. If I get a 6920 I want to send it in to ADCO and have them cut it down to 14.5 and perm attach the A2 FH. I've seen some 6920 and 6921 uppers for sale recently. I am thinking about jumping on one of those and then waiting for a 6920 or 6921 complete lower. How hard do you think it is going to be to find one? As a side note, if i get the 6921 upper, ADCO can install a washer and then perm attach the FH correct? |
| double tap damn it!!code 4 sales Great guy to work with, prompt, got a 6450 with him last year. Got the 6920 when they were around $1250, IMO still worth it at $1500. |

I just bought a Brand New 6920 Lower from "Specialized Armament". With the "Colts Law Enforcment Carbine" on one side and the "Restricted gov't/LE/Export etc." on the other side. I know they have a bunch in stock. I had a lighter hammer and smoother silicone covered spring put in and paid $575 to my FFL. Tina was my contact. Give her a call, she'll work with you. They come straight from Colt. No gunbroker worries. http://www.specializedarmament.com/ |
There you go. This is about a $200 premium that is worth that and then some come re-sale time, and if that isn't in the plan, it is a small amount to pay for the piece of mind. IMO There are a dozen functional options for lowers that will perform just like the Colt, but for the Colt purists, it isn't about that. |
I am going to call them tommorrow. I just moved here a year ago and My local FFL doesn't have any 6920's, or any Colts for that matter. When I ask him about transfers he gives the impression that he doesn't want to. I asked him if he could get a Colt 6920 and I got a speech about how colt sucks. They are supposed to check with their distributors. If they can get one then I will just have to pay whatever asinine price they ask. Otherwise, I am going to ask them that since they can't get any, if they will do a transfer for me from Code4. After they tell me how Colt sucks again when their distributor tells them no, I am just going to tell them that this particular rifle has collector's value to me, I already have AR15's like the ones they have in stock (which are not Colts), and will they transfer the 6920 for me. When the employee was looking in the distributor catalogue he seemed all interested in the fact that they are stamped "LE/Mil Only". Hopefully they are not going to be mis-informed and give me a hard time. Thanks for all of the help guys. |
Find a different dealer. If you're new in the area, try checking here for other FFLs in your area. |
Update: The actual owner was there today. He checked with his distributor and couldn't get one, so he is going to do a transfer for me if I can locate one. He was real nice about too. Seems like a great guy. |
