Where can a person find an upper that does NOT have the brass deflector bump on the side, but still has a forward assist ?
Anyone making new ones like this or is it only the older ones?

Think you're SOL on this. To my knowledge, only yhe M16A1 uppers there are out there are going to meet your specs.
