Do they stake them or use loctite to put the castle nut on a tele-stock?

Are you trying to get it off of there?

I have not taken one off that has either but then again I dont use either when I put them on. If you have problems with the nut losening you could use a little servicable red lock tite.

Bushmaster uses red locktite so you'll need to heat up the nut and break it loose.

My Bushmaster (about 2 years old) was neither. It was just on there really tight. I need a couple whacks from a hammer on the castle nut wrench to get it to loosen.

I had to sit on mine (no vise) and use some huevos to get it loose.

This is not my rifle. It belongs to a coworker. I have never owned a Bushmaster with a factory tele-stock.

He reported that he could not get the nut off, and was asking if there could be loctite. He doesn't see it staked, and I don't have it in hand to look at.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have him try some heat, since all of us state employees were never issued any "huevos."

Neither.
I have a recently purchased, new in box, complete BM lower w/tele-stock.
The castle nut was not staked nor did it have Loctite on it.
It was tight but it came off rather easily with the proper wrench and the lower in a vice.
