Working on building my first rifle, and need some advice.  Just bought a used VIS 3 off the EE with the idea of matching it to a Noveske 13.7" w/ pinned KX3 I've ordered from Denny's.  Wasn't sure that it would work, but John Noveske answered my e-mail and said no problem.  Just received the upper, and now I've got some questions:  Does the barrel nut install from the chamber end, and not pose a problem with a pinned hider? This seems like an incredibly stupid question, especially if the nut has to slide over the barrel!  (AR armorer's guide already on the way!) Any other problems with this combination I don't see coming?  Thanks!

you will have to remove the hider and put the barrel nut on.  not impossible, but not too easy with a pinned flash hider that is larger than the barrel nut.  if the gas block is on you will have to remove it also.

OK do I have Denny slip the barrel nut over, then pin the hider?

Yes. See if Denny can slide a VIS nut on before assembly. A VIS nut is different than a regular barrel nut so be clear about this.

Think I'll send him mine and call Vltor for backup.  Thanks.
