I am looking at these for my next build. I was wondering if anybody has used these and how hard was it to install them? Pls how durable are they? Thanks John

My JP Enterprises upper has a V-Tac handguard, I like them. Fit and finish is very good and you can add rails if you need them. I purchased the upper complete from JP so I'm not sure how hard it is to install them (doesn't look difficult though)

Installation is very easy. It is the only handguard I use. I am about to sell a knights free float ras and replace it with another vtac floater. The price is reasonable and the quality is very good. Most of the 3-gunners around here shoot with them. The cool thing is you can dress them to suit your needs.

Quality rail system for the money.

Please realize the installation instructions require you to use red Loctite on the outer barrel nut which effectively fuses the outer barrel nut and upper receiver together.

The V-tac is a nice system, I own one myself.  Just realize it requires a big sacrifice as you'll now have a dedicated V-tac upper receiver . . . forever.

not 100% true.

on the regular-guy user-level (like me!) yeah, it's pretty much premanent.

but they're modular and quality-built enough that you should have at least one rifle with a JPvtac tube on it.

Dont use the Red locktite, The Blue works just fine and you can get it apart later without the use of a torch.
I have put these hadguards on 15 uppers now and used the Blue without any problems.   I have had to remove the barrels from 2 of these uppers to have
the barrel threaded and swap the uppers, I used a strap wrench to break the JP nut loose.

Does anyone know what these weigh? I'm mainly interested in rifle length for AR-15 or AR-10, DMPS 308. I tried to email JP but the email was returned, not sure if their email is down or if my job's email has decided it doesn't want to go there.
TIA

I'll try again when I get home. I used the address for tech questions on the contact us page of their website, like I say it could have been something with my .mil email address or good old user headspace and timing. The problem wasn't that they didn't answer, the email was returned undeliverable.
