| I am looking at these for my next build. I was wondering if anybody has used these and how hard was it to install them? Pls how durable are they? Thanks John |
| Installation is very easy. It is the only handguard I use. I am about to sell a knights free float ras and replace it with another vtac floater. The price is reasonable and the quality is very good. Most of the 3-gunners around here shoot with them. The cool thing is you can dress them to suit your needs. |

Please realize the installation instructions require you to use red Loctite on the outer barrel nut which effectively fuses the outer barrel nut and upper receiver together. The V-tac is a nice system, I own one myself. Just realize it requires a big sacrifice as you'll now have a dedicated V-tac upper receiver . . . forever. |
not 100% true. on the regular-guy user-level (like me!) yeah, it's pretty much premanent. but they're modular and quality-built enough that you should have at least one rifle with a JPvtac tube on it. |
Dont use the Red locktite, The Blue works just fine and you can get it apart later without the use of a torch. I have put these hadguards on 15 uppers now and used the Blue without any problems. I have had to remove the barrels from 2 of these uppers to have the barrel threaded and swap the uppers, I used a strap wrench to break the JP nut loose. |
I've found JP to be very good via email..... |
I'll try again when I get home. I used the address for tech questions on the contact us page of their website, like I say it could have been something with my .mil email address or good old user headspace and timing. |
