Can a gunsmith remove a permanent hider without damaging the rifle in any way? I know the flashhider gets destroyed, but what about the threads and the barrel? The reason I wanna know is because I'm deciding between the 16" and 14.5" and I'm worried about running into any big problems if I ever need to do any work on the upper that involves removing the FH.hinking.gif

Are you going to have hand guards that require removal of the flash hider?  If not, then I wouldn't worry about it at all.  Check with Adco as they provide barrel services like perm. flash hider installation and removal.  They could give you the best answer.

The only real reason you would ever need to completely remove the flash hider is to change to a different one, or to completely remove a rail system like Larue or DD.
