Any experience? Thanks. |
your thinkin of Samson? Theres an active thread in this forum about Samsons new redesigned forearms. First Samco/CAA forarms are snap in, they are not freefloat. Ive used the M44 carbine version and their original M33 2 rail version the 2 rail version comes in handy if you only want a bottom rail, they match up with slim (CAR) handguards, not M4 handguards. I use only 1/2 of the M33 set to have a rail for a light and VFG. |

If you can get a deal on one, go for it. Don't expect to mount more than a VFG or light on them, maybe a bipod. I have a set. I got them for about the same price as a set of regular A2 handguards, so I';m not terribly upset at it's shortcomings. They are NOT worth the insane $120 retail. You may be able to find a good deal (like half price). At full retail, get a YHM drop-in. |
Midwest Industries has nice in spec aluminum piccatinny rails that attach to your current handguards. eta....not sloped CAA has the M44's in aluminum but Im not sure what they run $$$ |
I wonder if the MI rails are sloped? The CTD rails are sloped so that they stay parallel to the bore on the sloped handguards. They are a nice cheap solution for someone looking to add a vert grip or a light. www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR054-20857-1887.html |
Hmm. Wonder if there is enough room there for both a VFG and a light (6 inches)? Also, would these provide a secure enough mount for a VFG that would hold up to knockin' around? Thanks. |
there is enough space for a VFG and a light. Its pretty sturdy, but obviously not as sturdy as a proper FF rail. |
