I just had a stripped Noveske lower fitted with a CMT/Stag lower parts kit and noticed that the trigger pull is quite gritty.

Is this common to CMT/Stag LPK's...or is it just kind of hit and miss with any manufacturer?  My Bushmaster, while still a bit stiff, has no gritty feeling drag to the trigger and breaks quite well.  I really like the Bushmaster trigger in fact.

I'm not looking for a match trigger by any means, but is there a way to smooth up the pull on this trigger or is there another LPK that are known to have nice triggers?

I have started do some dry firing but I'm really not sure if this will actually work.
Any help would be great!

Have you cleaned the trigger?  If so what did you use to clean it with?

Have you lubed the trigger?  If so what did you clean it with?

Just looking for more info

I haven't shot the rifle yet, and I have not cleaned or lubed it...guess I might want to start there =O).

Only reason I haven't is that I haven't ever cleaned the trigger/hammer group before on a new rifle as I haven't felt a trigger this rough.

I don't know if it will help or not but it will not hurt.

I alway clean all the FCG parts with Break Free Powder Blaster, then wipe with a CLP dampened, lint free cloth prior to installing them.

Don't know if it even makes sense to do so but I do it and it might be worth a try.

If it doesn't work, at least it was free

The trigger on one of my DPMS ARs was a bit gritty and had a pull of about 7-8lbs. I cleaned it and lubed it with CLP and that didn't hepl so I  took it out and installed a RRA 2 stage.......Simple, quick and cost around $80.  Money well spent.
