| I would like any information about the A3 upper that CDNN has for sale on their wed site ? Who makes them and about quality of these. Thanks |

cdnninvestments.com/aftermarket.html I dunno. I figured if they were "brand named", they'd have said so. May be Chi-com or a 'blackthorn-quality' part? |

I too wondered about the maker and e-mailed them. Just today I got an answer: They have no idea who made them. In that case I will pass. What if they were Oh-limp-dick? They could not give me one of them let alone paying $100 for one. Here is my letter to them and their reply. Of course I edited my real name out. Mr. Big-Bore, We do not know the maker. Thanks for your interest in cdnnsports.com. We do hope to do business with you! If it is a DPMS, Superior Arms, Double Star or such other quality upper I will want to order one. If it is a piece of junk such as Olympic then I wouldn't touch it at half the price. Without knowing the brand I cannot order so I would really appreciate knowing the brand of the upper receiver. Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Big-Bore |

Without specific experience, my hunch is that these uppers have a keyhole forge mark on the right side, and are part of a large batch that I've seen being sold by a number of dealer, without any info beyond the keyhole on them. I bought one awhile back from another supplier who also couldn't (or wouldn't) advise who actually made the piece. The one I got is perfectly well made, has white colored T marks on the top, fits both the Bushmaster lower it's usually on, and the Colt class 3 lower I sometimes put it on, perfectly. In fact, it's a better fit on the Colt than the Colt upper that's usually there. While the color match w/the early Colt is off, it's just about perfect when the piece is on the Bushie lower ![]() Instead of asking CDNN who made it, call and talk to one oif the sales force; and ask him to see if there's a forge mark on the right side. If there is a keyhole, the odds are that this batch is part of the same ones I got. |
