I have a brand new 6920 and was wondering if there are any economical options as far as quad rails are concerned or should I just bite the bullet and purchase a Daniel Defense or YHM rail system. Can I easily do the install at home and are some set ups more advantageous than others? All info is appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!

You got one of the nicer rifles available, please do yourself a favor and get a nice rail for it. Daniel Defense or LaRue would be my suggestion.

The new DD Omega rail is a high quality rail that installs quickly, and easily.  Below is a thread that covers the installation process.

Are you wanting a free float or two piece deal?

I wouldn't classify a YHM rail as "biting the bullet."  From the ones I've seen, the YHM rails aren't anything special.  In fact, I'd probably put them at the bottom of the list.  If you are wanting a good, easy-to-install rail, check out the Knight's Armament RAS.  The RAS is the current standard issue rail to US troops for their MR's.  It is not a free-float, but is the most solid 2-piece rail you can get.  It doesn't require you to cut off the delta ring assembly or remove the front sight base either.

If you are looking for a free float, my first vote goes to a Larue.  It is a one piece design and is possibly the most-solid rail out there.  But, it requires you to remove the front sight base to slide it over the barrel (an operation I wouldn't suggest you try unless you've done it before).

Other good rails are made by Troy and Daniel Defense.  These free floating rails will require you to reomove the Delta Ring assembly. but this can be easily done with a Dremel tool.

I have 4 AR's.  One has a KAC RAS, one has a Larue 9.0, one has a Troy MRF-C, and one is an LWRC SRT.  I would highly recommend any of them.

But, go with what you really want the first time.  You will eventually buy it anyway, but will have already wasted money on an intermediate.  The 6920 is a really nice gun.  It would be a shame to adorn it with a bargain bin rail.

Correct except that the Danial Defense Omega in Stickman's link above does not require the delta ring to be cut or barrel nut to be removed.  Quite a clevel design really.  A true free float that is easy to install.  Anyone not familiar with it should click that link and check it out.
