Hi all, glad to be here.
I just got a used RRA M4 that was reported to be originally obtained from a Police Chief.

I have visited the RRA Site and m a bit confused.....

They have CAR but the one I have is marked LAR-15 and also has "U.S. Property" above the trigger. What is the difference and meaning between CAR and LAR?

Attached is a picture. Can someone tell me what I have here and why is it marked "U.S. Property"?

Also, should I be worried that the "U.S." will ever want it's "Property" back?

Thanks for the help, Nice Site!

I dont have all the answers.

some people think there is value in having their lowers marked "US", some dont.

All RRA models are engraved LAR - and a number.  15 for .223/5.56.  CAR means carbine, a reference to the length of the gas system.  I believe all of their .223/5.56 AR's are engraved LAR-15

+1

And all their serial numbers start w/CM  for Continaental Machine; who acTually makes them.

(ETA)  And didn't Pete in New Hampshire, a commercial seller who lists in the EE section of this site, have a bunch of RR lowers made up a couple of years back witrh this stamping on it?
