I want to upgrade from my colt 'match target' and the more I research, the more questions I have--HELP
1)I've been looking at dpms, bushmaster, RRA, fulton armory, armalite. what are their pros/cons, am I missing something?
2)besides making it safe to shoot .223 and 5.56x45, is there any other advantage to a wheland (sp?) chamber--and what about accuracy?
3)I handled one RRA rifle which tight enough to put accu-wedge out of business and to require a punch to move the take-down-pin! cocking it was no problem but it was lubed and unfired in a gun shop rack. are they more prone to jams?
4)are krieger barrels and cryo treating worth the extra $ if the rifle is already supposed to shoot 3/4 or even 1/2 moa? which barrels last the longest--besides krieger?
5)bushmaster's cmp gun is advertised with a 1:9 twist. if the heaviest bullet I shoot is 69gr. how much does that matter?
6)armalite claims that their 2 stage trigger is the strongest/best on the market. I was impressed with the simplicity of the parts. they looked like a 1 stage trigger. 7)what kind of customer service/warranty experience have all of you had with these manufacturers?

I'm just a 'kitchen table gunsmith', so I'm thinking of selling the colt and buying something better. I thought about getting a complete upper, but I recover some of the cost by selling the whole rifle--and a match grade trigger from anybody's factory has to be at least as good as the jp I installed.

Sell your complete rifle, buy a RRA complete lower with match trigger, add one of the two afore mentioned uppers.

You will have enough gun to make it to Master/High Master.

What profile and twist does your Colt barrell have? I took my Colt Hbar(1:7 twist); added 1/2 minute sights and a freeflote tube and a Jewell two stage trigger and it shot inside 1 MOA until about 9000-10000 rounds.
