I am currently running an 2001 built Mid-Length in CAR A4 configuration.

Since I happen to be in the planning stages to build my own AR, I have been paying much closer attention to the details and came across a crownless barrel on my current rifle.. WTF?

Was this normal operating procedure for RRA back then (Wilson) to saw the end of the barrel off and not put some sort of crown on the end?

I spoke with a dealer regarding the newer RRA barrels and they stated the barrels have a crown on the end.

Info would be most appreciated, Qfly

I've been with the company since 2002, and to the best of my knowledge we've never put out an uncrowned barrel, before or since.  Could one have somehow gotten through at some point?  I suppose it's possible, but not too likely.

Steve, thanks for the reply.. I will try and take a picture for you. It might mean removing the A-2 hider but I will see what I can come up with..

Cheers! Shawn
