Why did you feel the need to grind on a KAC flip up FSB?

I see that now.  But the KAC flip up is rare unless they are making them again.

Wow, that sucks.  How much did you have it insured for?

Also... I am about to cut a rail.  Did you find it necessary to chamfer the leading edges of the rail to remove the sharp right angle left when cutting?  What did you do to refinish once you had bare aluminum showing?

That was a sweet, rare, and one of a kind upper. You must be sick.

yes to your 2nd question, i was planning on painting the entire rifle so I left the edges bare

Im not so much upset about losing the gear, its just gear, just objects.  The value of the upper is quite high, but i'll be made whole again financially. But its the AMOUNT OF TIME it took me to put this together, now all the wasted time/energy that went into that upper is now fruitless and wasted. That is what makes me sick the most.

I'm surprised I missed this thread... I still can't believe it got lost.  It took a lot of time and effort from a lot of people to get this thing done.

You guys wont believe this....the upper has been found!

The packing label must have fell off, fedex opened the package and looked inside and found paperwork from the shim kit instructions that had knights information on it.

They packed it back up and sent it to Knights!

They didn't have a scan on it since the shipping label was knocked off, and it made it from Olive Branch, Mississippi all the way down to Titusville, Fl.

I got an IM from Lt. Col Lutz (coldblue) today saying "hey, look, i got this upper, it looks like yours in your pictures"

And its all down hill from there...pretty amazing story.

My ass is driving down friday morning to pick this up...

The only thing that scares me, if in that package, was *entire* weapon. Fedex would have opened it up saw a firearm...who knows what would have happened
