Does anyone have one yet?  Can you get them with a forward assist and a defelctor?

I don't have one but I've been looking at them.
http://www.rainierarms.com/ has them.
It says you need a Sundevil lower, the lugs are wider that pin it to the lower and won't fit a milspec lower?
I was wondering if  the pin holes were located in the sameplace spacing wise if they could carefully narrowed to fit a mil-spec lower.
Stickman probably knows.

I bought one and it fit my RRA lower better than my CMT upper.  John at Rainier Arms told me it was hit & miss which lowers it would fit.  As far as I know you can't get it with a forward assist or shell deflector.

Thanks TriggerBender.  The SunDevil uppers are NOT currently available with a forward assist, or shell deflector.  It is something that we are trying to get them to make as an option, but it isn't happening for right now.

On a side note, SunDevil now has a deep black for their anodizing, so when you see the lighter colored lowers like in many of my pics, you know its an old one.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Stick, do you know if the new Sun Devil lowers are as dark as the Mega lowers?  I am trying to see what to build next and don't want a rifle with about 20 shades of black.

I do like the look of the upper without the forward assist.  It's a feature that is not needed for what I do, never used it like most people.  But a shell deflector would be nice.  Anyone know what lower will and will not fit with this upper?

Its pretty close to my eye, though the overall sheen seems to be a tad less.

Its to bad they dont make them with a shell defelctor and forward assist.  I will have to hold off on one then.

They are in the process of making them with a forward assist and a small brass deflector.  They are currently designed to eject over the shoulder and the deflector isnt needed.

Why not buy a LaRue Stealth billet upper now?  It has the deflector and forward assist and it works with all current lowers?  Am I missing something?

Are you missing something?  Yes.

Cost?
Looks?
Cost?

Plus they are a home town manufacturer for me.  I would rather spend my money on their product and mate it to my lower from them.

The Sundevil upper will fit any standard lower. Some of the uppers that Rainier Arms has were to be sold as sets as the lugs were a little big and were fit to the Sundevil lowers. Any Sundevil upper that were not part of that lot will fit any standard lower.

Any idea when the next batch are shipping to Rainier or other dealers? Thank you.

Upper production is a bit backed up at this time. We had a few machines break on us and lost some time. We are just getting them back online now so we are at least 1 month before having uppers ready to ship.

I know that you guys are very busy, but I wanted to welcome you to the board.  Congratulations on the new generation lowers, they look great.  Will you still be making the version without the adjustment screw, or is that the standard lower now?

Thanks.

These uppers are realy grown on me.  I like the clean lines without the forward assist and brass deflector.

Thanks Stickman,
Yes we are swomped but things are looking up. The lowers from now on will all have the adjustment screw as we have had good response from them.

Good to know, and I wouldn't want to make a bunch of different style lowers either.  The new ones that John got in look great, and the finish is outstanding.

Welcome to the boards, Sundevil!

I have a lower stil sitting in the safe, waiting for me to decide what to do with it.

Are forward assist uppers really in the works, or is that just internet rumor?  I would be down for one if they happen!

We were looking into a forward assist but we had a few machines go down and one is still giving us problems so we got a little backed up on our upper receiver production. Once we get back on track they are on the list.

So many things to make... So few hours in the day!
