| I'm purchasing an M4 upper off the EE. The seller states the barrel is marked "5.56 NATO 1/9" The FSB is marked "L3I1". Does anyone have an idea who made it? |
Does the lack of response tell you something? I've never seen even the beginnings of a list of sight base forgers. All I know for sure id that my 3 Bushmaster barrels, made over a 20 year period, all have a small crown on the left side, but then I know others with barrels by different mfrs who also have a crown on their sight base. Bottom line. Even if you knew what the base markings meant, it still wouldn't give you any info on who made the barrel. Pretty much everyone in the field uses the same batch of forges. |
