I'm looking at an adjustable gas system for an upcoming project.  So far, I've checked out the PRI adjustable gas block and the Fulton adjustable gas tube.

What other options are out there?

The Fulton tube is the MGI adjustable gas tube.
We make it.

It works great in most applications.
It is not rated for continuous full auto with suppressors in place.

Will not shut the gas all the way off, but will cut it almost all the way off, when the adjuster is fully closed.

No "click" adjustments, so you have to make your own marks for returning to a previous adjustment.

Will fit under most handguards, but a small hole needs to be drilled in the top of the handguard, so that you can access the adjuster screw with the allen key. The location is approximately 3/4" behind the FSB, and lines up with the first hole in the top of an M4 handguard.

Cool, thanks for the answer.

Will it fit under a railed forend without my drilling a hole in it?  I realize it would be hard to get to to adjust, but for this project I'd like to basically tune the gas system for a particular set up and then I don't anticipate having to change it much.  It looked to me like the valve would sit too high to fit under a LaRue or DD rail.

I suppose I could just bite the bullet and drill the hole in whatever forend I decide on, though.

I know that some people have used them under a DD rail.
I don't know about a LaRue.

One guy who used it under a DD rail showed me some pics, and he drilled a small hole in the bottom of one of the rail slots to put the allen key thru, and it was real clean looking. Since the hole was in the bottom of the slot, you didn't even really notice it being there.

If you want to try it, to see if it will fit under your rail, we'll take it back for a refund if it doesn't fit where you want it.

Oh, and one other thing, they are carbine or rifle length only. No midlength.

Did you notice that was on an AR-10?
That's one of the MGI adjuster blocks that I installed on an AR-10 gas tube.
I also drill the access holes as cleanly and as hidden as possible.

Say what?
PRI has an adjustable gas block now?

Gotta post a link...

My bad, I meant JP, not PRI.

The MGI tube won't work for me because this is a mid length.  I could get a rifle one and cut it down / bend it, I suppose...

I custom-install MGI gas adjuster blocks on any gas tube.
MGI offers Carbine and Rifle.
I do the rest, mid-length, pistol, AR-10 rifle and AR-10 carbine.
Valve placement can also be customized.

If you want the really slick install, I have to rebuild the upper to mount the gas valve and drill the access hole.

How much do you get for a custom regulated mid-length tube,  AR15barrels, if you don't mind me asking?

I ordered a carbine barrel and the barrelmaker shipped me a mid-length. One of the reasons I ordered a barrel ported for the carbine-length system was so I could use the MGI regulated tube. Now I either have to exchange the barrel, use an adjustable gas block (I'd rather use my PRI gas block) or, if possible, get a mid-length tube with the MGI regulator.

$60 for a mid-length adjustable gas tube.
AR-10 gas tubes run $5 more.
