Anybody have this (non-freefloat version)? How does this compare to the M73? How sturdy/durable is it? Does it move when in place? |

The non-FF GG&G rail mounts just like the MI, Samson, YHM, and a few others. Basically these types of rail systems come in to halves and replace the plastic handguards. They install in exactly the same manner as the plastic handguards fitting inside the front handguard cap and inside the delta ring. A lot of folks say this provides a solid rail platform . . .and it just might be true. The M73 stands alone in that it uses its set-screw locking system to "wedge" itself between the barrel nut and FSB providing an additional level of retention instead of just relying on the delta ring and handguard cap alone. |

Sorry for jumping on this late just was doing a search. I have the GG&G Dominator with the non free float and it is a stellar product. Mine came with extra small rails and panels so I can adapt it more to my needs. As stated the forearm just replaces the old handguards. It is a very well made piece of gear with heavy duty/solid rails. I think it may be a bit heavier than most but no so much as to be a detraction. In fact on the Dominator I think it is a plus it gives it some heft. REALLY enjoy and recommend the Dominator for anyone thinking of one. I got it with the heavier M16 BC and an "improved" bolt. Shoots everything I have put through it so far from Vmax to 55gr FMJ. I just sort of ran across a deal on one at local shop so I couldn't pass it up. |
