Hey guys I'm starting to look at how to build my upper.  This will be a plinker/defensive rifle.  For defensive use I'm planning on using something like the 75gr hornady tap loads and falling back to something cheap for plinking like radway green.  My understanding is that I really should be looking at a 1:7 twist rate for this and the 1:9 thats more common on things like that nicely priced assembled stag upper isn't quite as good.  Is that understanding correct?

If so any recommendation on guys who build uppers who could do a quality upper, chrome lined 1:7 16" barrel with midlength gas, phantom flash hider, and larue FF kit?  It seems like every place I look at has their own favorite suppliers and I have no idea who to order from!  Thanks

I can do exactly what you are asking for.
I can even shorten the barrel to 14.5" and permanent attach a phantom to make it a little more compact.
I stock LaRue and Daniel Defense handguard systems.
Also have chrome lined 1:7 twist mid-length barrels in stock.
