I took my AR's into the shop to be worked on (turned down barrel move front site 2mm {I know odd right} and add a SOPMOD Stock.

The Gunsmith said the stock is really tight but he is going to play with it to make it a little more lose.  Are they just really tight or is it because I just had the stock and had him replace the one on my RRA lower.  I got the stock for free because a guy ordered it and then said I dont want to put it on and he was going to through it away along with his KAS handguards for a 20inch because he decided to get a M4 upper.  Thanks for the help.

The SOPMOD stock body is made for the smaller dimension tube, while your RRA tube is a larger outer dimension.
SOPMOD = "mil-spec"    around 1.150"
RRA = commercial         around 1.170"

Yeat that can be a problem.  I had him take it off.  I am in the middle of a move and I might just sale it eventually.  I just like the cheekweld mainly so I might get something less expensice to go with my IDF Sling.  Thanks.

He was going to throw out a $200 stock?

Is he stupid?

I can't believe he got it stretched on your tube.  That gunsmith must be really un-educated.

[I'm sorry, he maybe he know's what he's doing-- with that in mind, i think I'll walk to the trash and dump the contents of my wallet in.]

What happened is he has only worked with DPMS, RRA, and Bushmasters around here no one around has one of these stocks.  I will probally one day justbite the bullet and pay the 35 bucks and do it myself or sell it if someone wants it.
