I've got a rifle length Troy rail (12" MFRS) waiting for my return from Suckworld (just under two weeks now...) for installation on a Bushy M4gery. I know I'll have to cut the delta ring off and remove snap ring, and plan on shaving the FSB down. My question is, do I need to remove/cut off the front hand guard holdy doo hickey in order for the Troy to fit, or is there enough clearance that I can leave it alone? |
Actually, if you are planning on putting the 12" rifle Troy on over top of the BM M4 barrel, you will have to remove the handguard cap as well as shave down the front sight base. If you are talking about a 16" barrel, that will work. But if you are talking about a 14.5 with a permanent muzzle device, then you have a bit more work, because you have still have to shave the front sight base, but you actually have to cut the handguard cap and pull it out from behind the front sight base. Brett. |

THX, you were right, and cutting the FSB down was a pain in the butt, but the rail is installed and rocks, pics to follow...OBTW, am back from Suckworld. Now, does anyone know of a cap that will install into the end of the Troy rail ala the YHM freefloat I have on my 20" AR? |
