This very heavy, fat barrel is milsurp with a date of 1972. It has no markings on it whatsoever. Only reason I know the date is it was on the bag it originally was sealed in. I'm trying to figure out what the twist rate is. Anybody have any idea?

Cleaning rod and bore patch.  One with a handle that rotates will work best.  Pull it through the chamber and stop.  Put masking tape around the cleaning rod right at the muzzle.  Mark a point on the tape with a pen or marker.  Pull the cleaning rod out (allowing it to rotate) until it had only rotated 360 degrees.  Measure the distance from the tape edge that was next to the muzzle to the muzzle.  The rate will be determined by the distance it took to do one 360.

Just a thought!
