I already read the best stock fot you thread, but I would like opinions from people who have used them. How are they, do they eliminate rattle? how sturdy, how's the cheek weld? If you have a vltor and another brand of collapsable stock wich do you like better? Thanks in advance HAPPY THANKSGIVING! |
| VLTOR's are absolutely awesome. I have been thoroughly happy with mine. Never noticed any rattle or anything like that. Cant comment on the cheek weld, as I am a NTCH shooter with monkey arms. For any GP weapon that is to be used for its intended purpose (a fighting tool), VLTOR's are my first choice with Magpul's being a close second. For a special purpose weapon such as a SPR/Recce type AR, Magpul first with VLTOR a close second. |

Magpul and Vltor stocks are the only stocks I use. To compare the two is comparing apples and oranges, but you can't go wrong with either. The Vltors fit very nicely on a Colt or CMT carbine buffer tube, very little wobble when compared side by side with a factory carbine stock. |
have an a1 coming for my beowulf |

VLTOR and Magpul are both good, just VERY different. Magpul is heavier, but sturdier. Just as stable as fixed. VLTOR uses the Mil-Spec conventional receiver extension, which is nice since you can swap between other types of stocks (M4, SOPMOD), as well as being used w/ VLTOR's fixed stocks. Batt tubes are nice, but you still get that half on the tube, half on the stock cheek weld sometimes. Either is a good stock. Try to test both out before you purchase. |

thanks alot for the input, I posted here and in AR discusion just to try and open it up more and have gotten enough info on them, I think I will be going with VLTOR, I like the way they look(doesn't really matter) and I already have a colt tube so I will save money(does matter) whenever I get it installed I will post a TE w/ pics of course, and I'm gonna try and take it with to Iraq this next time around:) thanks again Semper Fi |
