I am going to recive a colt ar 15 that was purchached during the ban. i want to keep it a 20 in gov profile weapon, but i want to have the flash supperesor and the bayo lug on it. my question is would it be easier to have those put on or just get a no ban or pre ban barrel that these already come on. the barrel doesnt even have a presson or pinned on supressor on it.

I would just get the barrel thread for a FH and call it done. ADCO (your best bet) charges $65 + the cost of the FH + shipping to thread your barrel for a FH.

Now bayo lugs are another issue. I personally wouldn't bother having a bayo lug added to a neutered barrel. A. It's not worth the expense and B. You will have a hard time finding somebody who can do it right. ADCO lists the service on their site for a cost of $85 (including the cost of the new FSB) but I had read that they stopped preforming that service because it was too much of a headache.

If you want a 20" barrel and have to have all the evil features, then buy a new barrel that has those features. Spend some time on the EE. I have seen a number of 20" A2 profiled barrels with all the evil features for ~$200.

I agree: get the Flash Suppressor but forgo the bayonet lug; as I see it, it's too much of a hassle for an  infinitesimal gain.
