Hello all,  I am new the forum and also a new AR-15 owner.  I would like to know if there is a flash hider available that installs with set screws for my bushmaster.  Thanks in advance,  -Don

there are muzzle brakes that installs with set screws. but all the members of the forum will suggest you to send your barrel to ADCO and get it threaded

Welcome to the boards.

DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON ANY BARREL ATTACHMENT THAT USE SET SCREWS!!!

They never hold tight enough and sooner or later you'll have a scratched barrel and a muzzle device that landed somewhere downrange.

I agree with the others here.  Definitely send it to ADCO.  I did with my lightweight A3.  Worth every penny, top notch work.  Plus, you're right there in Ohio where they are, you could get it back quicker than most of us did.

Run like hell. Setscrews don't work.

Set screws suck ass.  When I talked to Vector Arms about getting something like that, they told me even a flash suppressor they tig welded on the barrel had flown off down range.  Threading the barrel is the only proper way.  ADCO can do it quickly and cheaply, don't make the mistake of taking it to your local smith (unless you know one that's not backed up by 3 weeks of work).

The maximum effective range of a set-screw muzzle device is 25 meters!

I just sent an order to ADCO for my Bushy 20 inch brl for a thread job and their Phantom 5C2.  How long will it take for me to hear from them so I can send it to them?  I really want to get this done just so the anti's get one more kick to the groin.

It takes them like a day or two once they receive it, and they ship it back to you just as fast, never will I make the mistake of having a local 'smith do it

Thanks for the quick response.  I've heard nothing but good things about ADCO on the forum.  Thanks for letting me know the time frame, I hate to go for several weeks w/o my AR.  ADCO's quick turn around is just the ticket.
