First off I want to say hi. This looks like a great site, I'm glad I found my way here. I recently purchased a Colt AR 15 sporter (my first one) Anyways, it's "un modified", and I'd like to change that. I don't plan on using this for hunting, but rather for home defense, target shooting etc. I think I want to put a shorter barrell (and eventually a silencer/muffler), a collapseable stock and eventually mount scope/sights (i was thinking the AIMPOINT CompM2), but I don't know where to go get a decent mounting rail/s. I would also like to add on laser pointer/flash light eventualy as well. I would rather spend the money the first time and do it right, instead of buying cheap crap and having to upgrade later. Can someone tell me what is/are some quality products that I should look into? I want (I think) a shorter barrell and forestock (that will allow me to mount stuff on it), a collapseable stock, and anything else that I have yet to think about. As you can tell I'm new to this and I'm sure my questions are not asked correctly, but hey, I'm trying.. Thanks for your input. Gene |
 Welcome to the site!There are countless options out the market to enhance your AR, so it might be difficult at first to sort through it all. My suggestion is for you to spend the next month reading the different forums before making any decisions on what to purchase. In the mean time, take your rifle to the range and learn how to use it properly. Oh and have fun doing it.
