I'm considering getting LMT's rifle length MRP with a 16" barrel.
I understand this comes with a mid length gas system.
I'm planning on putting it on a Mega lower with a Magpul M93a-r, which has a car length buffer.
Do I need to get a standard buffer or will the car work?  If I need a standard buffer, will the M93 still collapse to it's full range?
Or would I be better off getting the LMT in the CQB length with a 14.5 bbl and staying with the car buffer?  By better off, I mean in rifle functionality and relialibility.

Sheesh...The more I read these forums, the more goodies I want, and the more questions I have!
I saw the MRP pic thread and fell in love!

If by standard buffer, you mean a rifle length buffer, you will not be able to use it with the Magpul MSS.  A standard CAR buffer will work, but I would suggest an H buffer just for good measure.  Given the mid-length gas system, the H buffer is less of a necessity, but it may or may not be more useful if you decide to drop a carbine length gas system upper onto the lower.

The Magpul stock comes with its own proprietary buffer tube.  Get the rifle length w/ 16" bbl (shameless opportunity to post another pic)

interesting.  I forgot all about the h buffer.

OK, so it sounds like I'm going:
LMT rifle length
16" 1/7 with a phantom
and probably the h buffer for good measure.
thanks for the info!
as parts arrive, I'll send pics!
