had major cycling problem this weekend. almost every other round would not eject. then the casing would jam the rifle. extremly frustrating. i'm thinking it must have something to do with the h-buffer and spring i just put in that came with my LMT stock. i have a colt M4 upper, bolt/carrier and olympic lower, i was using brand new colt mags and various others, and it would jam using all. weapon is not kept really clean, bolt was cleaned after last use(about 650 rounds, rifle has about 2000 total thu it) chamber and bore have never been cleaned really well. using Isreali IMI M193. last time at the  range i experianced this jam maybe twice and thought it was just one of the older beat up mags i was using. any ideas on what would cause this and why  would be really helpfull.

Clean your rifle!!!!! Sounds like either your extractor is gunked up or your not getting enough gas pressure. Try cleaning it first.

it will be a few years before i start dealing with that problem.......knock on wood.

why would a dirty chamber give me ejection problems?
not questioning you, just want to know what part it may play in this problem.
would a dry extention tube, spring and buffer(they were dry, brand new), or other contact areas cause this problem?
i'm not as concerned about fixing this problem as i am with understanding what caused it and why, i'd like to know more about this rifle.

If the chamber is real rotton, it doesn't mean it's the problem, but could indicate that you also have fouling elswhere. The gas port could be cloged up, and that it my best guess from what you describe. CLEAN THE WEAPON, that is the first thing to do.

The problem you describe is usually associated with a weak extractor spring, which lets go of the empty before it can be popped out of the action by the ejector.

Many of us just go ahead and get the heavy duty springs from Wolff Gun Springs www.gunsprings.com

BTW, you can ignore the note on the Wolff web site that tells you to use a black insert w/the spring.  The standard blue ones work just fine.
