Received a CMT upper from JTAC Supply yesterday. Flattop, T-numbered, dry-film lube, and M4 feed ramps. Very nice black anodizing--uniformly even over the upper, no machining marks, nicks or scratches. The T-numbers are large, well defined, and very clear. Install was a breeze. The CMMG barrel fit very tight into the receiver. Also, the barrel notch was extremely tight and I had to use a piece of wood on the end of the receiver and a hammer to gently persuade the barrel into the notch. I like a tight fit The barrel nut timed by hand to just shy of the next notch, so I torqued to about 1.5 notches total, which was not really a lot of torque but seemed about right. I didn't use a torque wrench. I put a slight amount of ass on the nut but not "car lug nut" ass, so I'm sure the nut will not come lose but it isn't overtightened either. The M4 ramps seem to match up well with the CMMG ramps in the barrel. Finally, the upper was to replace an upper with out-of-spec picatinny rails. The CMT upper now allows me to attach and detach my Larue mounts without using a wrench. Shooting it today but I don't expect any troubles. |
I was hoping someone would appreciate that! AND, just got back from the range. Perfect shooter. My zero on my optics didn't even change. Operated smooth as silk. No failures of any kind. CMT uppers and JTAC are the fo-shizzle. |

I've got to keep that one filed in my vocabulary for later use.
