I just got an AR 15 with the upper receiver that has a keyhole lock symbol on it with a 20" Wilson HBAR barrel and brake. I was told it might be Colt , or is it a RRA upper? The lower assembly is RRA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug

Colt uppers with the keyhole usually have a "C" on the upper with the keyhole.

Bushmaster, RRA, DPMS and who knows who else all get raw "keyhole" forgings and finish them and install them on their rifles.  Unless you got it directly from the manufacturer, there is no guarantee who's upper it is.

It is a Cerro forged upper. Very nice quality. Used by RRA, Bushy, and Colt.

Got a kit one time from DPMS with the Cerro Forge mark on it.

Good, I have heard (mostly from DPMS) that they are using true spec parts now. That would confirm it for me. I have an older DPMS upper, the rails were out of spec. It also short stroked, but thats neither here nor there. Keyhole uppers are good stuff.

Funny, this DPMS rifle short stroked also.  I changed out the buffer spring and it ran perfect after that.
