Tapered or M4 contour?  Anyone have pics of either or both?

"Regular" handguards, that is.  I have to use something till the "Rail War" settles down (and I can come up with some $$$).

Thanks.

NO, give IN to the dark side.  Search your feelings, you know you want rails.  Get them.  Troy MRF-M or the MRF-MX.  You don't know the power... of the rail sides.

have a good one.

I went with tapered. 16 inch Bushmaster M4 on top. 16 inch ADCO lightened RRA on bottom.

Standard taper is the way to go on a Mid Length. The C6 (M4) style just looks all out of place IMO.

Here's the place to get them

Begone, Dark One!!!

I'm going with the tapered handguards...for now.  Unless someone wants to be so kind...

...I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a set of rails today (LaRue, LaRue, LaRue).

Thanks for the pics Innocent.  That made the difference.  By the way, how do you like the ADCO RRA lightened barrel?  I'm really leaning in that direction.

Wolf,
Sent ya an email on the midlength handguards...

The lightened barrel with the DD 9.0 is getting good reviews in Baghdad.  Light weight, durable, extra velocity of 16".

The lightweight ADCO barrel is nice. I wish it was 1x7 instead of 1x9 but it works. Cavalry Arms is expecting some 1x7 chrome lined lightweight barrels from Sabre Defence in the near future. No exact time frame as of yet. The did get some lightweight 14.5" barrels from Sabre that are interesting. These are like the lightweight Bushmaster 16" only these are 14.5". They don't have the extra weight forward of the FSB like the M4 barrels.

Are you referring to the contour that you gave my HBAR?  If so, that profile is incredible (and that's coming from a LW bbl buy).

Thanks again,

Corey

PS I'm really loving the midlengths these days.  I need to get a midlength gas system (versus the rails over a carbine system) to see what all the fuss is about.  ADCO will let me know when they start to get reasonably priced chrome lined 6.8 bbl's in I trust, right?

sorry but I have to correct you  just so we don't get flooded with e-mails about 1x7 twist barrels and 14.5" lightweight barrels

All our barrels from Saber defense are 1:9....the barrel profiles we are using are government profile:

BigBore:

What is the weight of your government profiled RRA midlengths?

Also, why does that man in the picture have my rifle?  I want it.  I want it.

OOps...sorry Russ. I misunderstood when you said the 14.5 was a lightweight barrel. I also srewed up thinking the new midlengths would be 1x7.

The LW barrel weighs 34oz.

I'd be happy to build an upper as the one pictured for you :-)

What would the cost on a built upper like that be?  Email me if you don't want to post publicly.

Steve at ADCO was great and I received the RRA Mid Length tapered handguards in just a couple of days.  Thanks, Steve.   No big deal to most of you but pretty cool to me.

Something to note -- According to Steve, these require the triangle front cap.  Steve was kind enough to toss on into the box when no one was looking.

Thanks again, Steve.

All I need now is a barrel and we'll be rockin'.

If I can just find a way to sweet-talk my buddy out of the TA01 I sold him five years ago...

One more question...I thought that this question was answered sometime back but I only know how (or have the capability ) to search 3 months back.

Will a bayonet fit properly on a mid-length gas, 18" barrel?  I thought someone said in one of the posts, that it would.

Thanks,

Wolf
