i see the semi circle and full circle/semi carriers for sale on EE, and the semi circle ones seem to sell for less. Why is that? They both work as they are supposed to, right?

I have never had a problem with the semicircle carrier, but there is a feeling that since they are lighter than the original design M16 carrier, they are less reliable.
