I am thinking about buying the 24inch long range ar-10 I have heard it can do 1/2moa anyone know if this is true? and do you have picture of target shot with the dpms Ar-10 and if it does shoot 1/2moa can you tell me what ammo you used?

Thanks

From what I have read here, the only complaint about these rifles are the crappy plastic mags that they come with.  Most people usually pony up some extra $$$ to get SR-25 mags which always seem to work perfectly.    I've heard that accuracy is outstanding also and they are capable of consistent sub-moa performance with the right ammo.

Oh, and it's the DPMS LR-308, not AR-10.  Just be glad you didn't say that in the AR-10 forum, because I'm sure some people here would be upset about you getting the name wrong

Yeah, and from now on, unless you actually own a Colt AR-15, you can't call your rifle an AR-15. You gotta call it a Match Target, XM-15, LAR-15, PCR-15, EA-15, M15, whatever...

Oh, and I can vouch for DPMS's crappy plastic mags, after a couple trips to the range the feed lips start pushing apart, unless you REALLY baby them.

That suck I don't like plastic mags anyway I guess i will have to invest in some good metal mags

gosh, are we gonna have to rename this forum or just pay royalties to Colt? or did that only apply to 'M4's?
cheers,

What really chaps my ass is that DPMS will not commit to a exchange/upgrade program for us current owners of the plastic mags when their new steel mags come out.

Wish I could tell you as I ordered one over a month ago..........

They dropped $100 in price over that time so I cancelled the order and am waiting for a refund to re-order. One of the non-joys of interstate ordering.

The mags are universally written as crap.  I guess I'll see if it will outshoot my Ar-10.
