| Damn that stuff is hard. Cut down 2 BM CH for local LEOs yesterday, the blade on the saw was done by the time I finished the second CH. Down to the short strokes on the ends by the time I got finished. Wish I had taken some pics for the people sitting on the fence so they could see how easy it is. I was surprised how fast the Al to the aluma-black considering how hard it is. Two light coats are MUCH better than one thick coat. |
Oh yeah. I once nearly ruined a brand-new genuine Sears Craftsman 10" single cut fine mill file recutting the angles on the bottom of an AR scope mount to fit on an AP-74. It was the coating only--once I was through that, it was quick work. NASTY work. Next time I need to do that I'll start with a plastic scope mount. |
