Finally saw my CAR-15 which has been in storage for the last four years.  I built it back around 1988 just before I went to Germany. (just did another 3 yrs in Germany and 6 mos in Iraq)  I can't remember who built the upper.  It is a A1 upper with FA and marked on near the upper left rear sight assembly with P and M (or was it M and P?) Anyone help me on this?

Thanks Mike,

I put together the carbine back in 87'.  The lower is a SGW/Oly.  Haven't played with it much in the last few years.  Only get to play with the M4A1s at work.  I built it when all I was issued was the full length M16 series and now that I've been carrying the M4 for the last nine years had a craving to rebuild it to a M16A1 variant.

I have an upper with a keyhole marking by Cerro Metal.  In another thread, I was informed that this company makes rough upper forgings for Colt, BM, etc.  The front sight on the barrel has a C marking in the right side corner.  What does these markings indicate?  Is this a factory assembled upper or a M4gery?

Thanks
