| How many of you have a lower for every upper? |
|
Lots of people here have tried the "one lower with multiple uppers" direction, but then you'll want to try different furniture or other accessories, and then the dis-assembly to change, and then you'll want to take more than one rig out at a time, or a buddy will want to shoot with you........... It never works out, you need "a lower for every upper" [:D] |
| While in the past all my uppers have had lowers, I'm thinking of having two uppers for one on my lowers I presently have a 14.5" Colt upper with a SIRS M58MOD and the MagPul M93 stock. I figure when the M95 stock becomes available on obtaining a long range upper and putting the whole thing in a Starlight Case. But......new uppers seem to spawn new lowers. |

well, right now I have an extra upper lying around here after recieving a new carbine upper from bsbg. However, I am thinking of turning that remaining upper into a few projects. thinking along the lines of using the upper reciever for an SP1 project and the barrel for a Midlength/SPR project. I have already come to accept the fact that eventually I will have to buy lowers to mate with the upper projects, and this all of course means I will need much more money. I need a higher paying job. |
| Well, the stupid thing is that, while it can be said that with two uppers and one lower, its like having two guns, its not. Its more like having a gun and a half for 90% of the price of having two actual guns, which makes it just more efficient to have two uppers and two lowers. Also, consider that if you have a "varmint" upper, wouldn't you want a nice match trigger lower to go with it, while the CQB upper goes on a lower with mil-spec FCG and (hopefully) a collapsable stock? |

New stripped lower. (Hell, they are cheap, right? And you never know when some anti gun natzi will start some.....) That leads to lower parts kits...and maybe a fancy trigger...... And have you seen those really cool stocks? Gotta try one of those! And a midlength...hmmm yea, ONE lower and a couple uppers...... I think thats kinda like "OK,I'll stop in with ya ,but I only have time to drink one." ;-) |
